Check Status with EAMS
The Electronic Adjudication Management System (EAMS) is California's official system for workers' compensation cases filed with the WCAB.
If your case has been filed with the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, you can check its status through the DWC website.

- Claim Filed: Your DWC-1 form has been submitted to your employer
- Under Review: Insurance company is investigating the claim
- Accepted/Denied: Decision made within 90 days
- Treatment: Medical care authorized and provided
- MMI: Maximum Medical Improvement reached
- Settlement: Case resolved through stipulation or award
How to Check Your Claim Status
Step 1: Identify Your Claim Number
Your claim number should be on any correspondence from the insurance company or your attorney.
Step 2: Contact the Right Party
- With attorney: Contact your attorney for status updates
- Self-represented: Contact the claims administrator
- WCAB cases: Use the EAMS portal
Step 3: Know What to Ask
Ask about: claim status, pending treatment authorizations, TD/PD payments, and next steps.
